Healthy Hearts Classes

Whether your child is already active or not, interested in gymnastics or not, they need to understand why proper nutrition and exercise is so important.  Our Healthy Hearts Class is a perfect way to do that!!

Our program is based on the USA Gymnastics Tyson Fitness Challenge and encourages fitness through fun activity with emphasis on strength training, cardiovascular exercise, flexibility and good nutrition.  It features exercises for beginner, intermediate and advanced students.  It is geared toward 6 - 16 year old children but if there is enough interest shown, we would love to start a preschool program.

At the beginning of the eight week session, your child will set a personal fitness goal.  During the session they will be taught how to accomplish this goal while also learning why the four fundamentals of fitness are so important and how to apply them into everyday life.  They will feel great physically and their self esteem will too!  Although they will only come to class one time per week, they will have a daily exercise log they will be expected to fill out and bring with them every week.  This will help encourage your child to learn to find ways to exercise on their own.

We are truly looking forward to helping your child build towards a healthy, happy and active life!

Class Time:  1hour

Why our Healthy Hearts Classes??

  • Today's children are considered the most inactive generation in history.
  • Approximately one in five kids is overweight, a percentage that has more than doubled in the
last 30 years. Childhood obesity is considered the most common nutritional disorder of U.S. children. (American Obesity Association)
  • Gymnastics clubs are a fun and safe environment for fitness-related activities and classes.
  • Obese children and adolescents are more likely to become obese adults.  One study found that
approximately 80 percent of children who were overweight at 10-15 years old were obese adults at age 25. (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)
  • The basics of gymnastics provide a solid foundation
for becoming physically fit and preparing to participate
    in other activities and sports.
